Nobbys Beach Newcastle

I used to go swimming there many years ago. You can walk along the breakwater. It separates the Hunter River from the Pacific Ocean. The change rooms are very old but they have been done up. I went there on Monday 25th February. I bought some hot chips and had a coffee and sat and thought of many things from the past. It is only an hours drive from my new home to here.

card and envelope

I think the envelope that holds a card should be equally as exciting and creative as the card inside. In the cards and envelopes that I will add each day for a while the envelopes are the same as the cards. I have already added 2 I did using the Cuttlebug and Sizzix folders a few weeks ago. These ones are not using an embossing folder.
This card and envelope set was done using SALT cardstock and Kaisercraft paper and wooden stamp. The ink is pinecone. The flowers have been made using 3 freehand circles scrunched and turned and glued together. The stem and leaves have been freehand cut using scissors.

The underneath flower is from SALT and the mauve fabric flower is from Webster's and they are called Bloomers. I cut one bloom from the row and mounted it onto a SALT flower and adhered the 2 together with a bling brad.

Envelope

The envelope I used for this card was a bought white one. However, I inked the edges, glued paper  on it and added a Cuttlebug sentiment and a heart that was cut out of one of the previous cards. So no need to throw away scraps.

Heart Card

This is another card inspired by Simone that I mentioned in my post earlier this week. I have used Kaisercraft paper and bling. The sentiment is typed on the computer and printed.

Heart Card

This card was inspired by the same blog as the previous card but I have changed the positions of the hearts. I have used Kaisercraft paper and pearls. I didn't have a sentiment stamp so i did it on the computer and printed it out.

Heart Card

Cut out heart card showing the pop up smaller heart on the  bigger heart.

Showing how the pop up heart is attached. I folded a doubled over  piece of cardstock in half. I glued one half to the smaller heart and the other half to the larger heart. When the card is put into an envelope the smaller heart flattens but when you pull it out of the envelope it pops back up.

This card was inspired from a card I saw on http://www.simonenaoum.com/ and the card is called Sweet Love Card

Love card and enveope

This card and envelope was made the same way as the previous one and using the lightweight cardstock for the construction of the envelope. I embossed the Kaisercraft patterned paper and lightly sanded it before adhering to the envelope and card. Another matching pair. The bow was made from paper.

Love card and envelope

I have a 4 piece embossing folders from Sizzix called the Love Set. I love Sizzix folders as they emboss deeper than other folders.
I made a square envelope and then made the card a few centimeters smaller all around to fit inside the envelope. I embossed cardstock and inked it and adhered to both the card and envelope to match. I also inked the flowers to match the ink on the embossing.
I made the envelope from a thin cardstock and quite like its firmness.

Home

Back of house, front of house, looking out the front door, the 3 car garage alias my Woman Cave where I will be creating.
Brian and I moved the left over bricks from the house and took them up the back of the land. We moved about 850 bricks and moved the blue metal also. All this was done last weekend on the Saturday when it was 35 degrees.

Ribbon Roses

These beautiful red ribbon roses were made for me by one of my beautiful Biology students, Sally. She remembered I liked red roses and made these for me and gave them to me when she finished her HSC.
